And I am working on a very VERY different story for the next but one issue. 'Vodka' will be in the next issue, (at least the first part will be). I also need to do some more articles, and art work. Sigh., Where does the time go? At least I have done the next set of Star SIgns. Just Dr Jackson to do next ..)
The Jan/Feb issue of The Herald is now online.

These are some 'fertles' that have been lingering unloved and unfinished for too long. I hope to work my way through the episodes in the coming months and hopefully add to the current episodes as well.
Just For Fun Sigh. The last dregs of the bottle drained this evening - Just as I finished the main part of 'Vodka'. There is still a lot of fertling and cleaning up to do, as well as the rounding up of all the loose ends, but the really inportant part is completed. I need to thank 'Rebecca and her 'Ed for the Finlandia. NEXT story is going to be involve.. Belgian chocolates and ... champagne. ( I will SO look forward to researching THOSE!)
Now I just need to finish that last scene in Shepherd. February. And 'Vodka' is now nearing the end of the bottle. (I have to say it was fun doing further research on the topic!) Down to the last drops now. And as always I an feeling sad that it is coming to an end. But I think I can make this 'slot' very nicely into an earlier story and also into a further ( and much darker) story that might just link into Shepherd at some stage. Dimitri Leonov has been interesting to do. Initially a very 'unseen' character in Breathless, he came to life ( for me at any rate) in Moonlight, and in the notes for that story I said that he had to save Straker once more.
I thought I would have written this story in a couple of weeks, but it's taken nearly 15 months. I have started it at least half a dozen times. I have replanned it, changed characters, scenes, endings. Only now am I getting to the stage where I am reasonably happy with it. Does that make me a poor writer? I don't know. What I do know is that I have pushed myself to try something new. |
