Portraits: Mostly Ed Straker, but I have added a couple of others ( and deleted a lot of early ones!) As with all my work, these are copyright.
Drawn in pastels on A4 Card to go with the story: Vodka
Another picture for the story: Vodka
One of my favourite images. Deliberately 'blocky'.
Another 'Vodka' picture!
Love this image.
Subsmash
I thought it would be interesting to show how this picture developed. This was the start!
Subsmash. Completed
I struggled with the eyes and decided that if I carried on messing about with them I would ruin it altogether, so I left well alone!
Identified; Walking into the studio
I got fed up trying to do his eyes so I copped out!
The Man Who Came Back
I was never really happy with the finished product, so I had another go. Pleased with the 'tubing' on this picture, and the reflections but still struggling with the eyes. Oh well, I can always try again! Difficult to get the background evenly dark using 9B pencil, but paint is too 'flat'.
Having done the picture of Moonbase in pastel pencils on black, I think it would be worth having a go at this picture again using the same technique. It would be harder as the pastel pecils don't stay sharp enough to get the fine detail required. It's also a case of trying to find the time, as I have three stories on the go, assorted pictures to do for various people and.... don't let me forget....... a full time job. Drat. I haven't watched any television for over two months now! |
