Well, the intention was there, but at this time last year I had no real intention of letting John Sepherd take over my life to the extent that he did. So.,,. Windermere Close has remained untouched.(although I do have more ideas for it!)
It has been a ... busy year. Personally as well as in Lightcudder's world. But, I have written several stories, Garbage, Rules, Regulations, Abandoned, and a couple of others that I am not allowed to name right now! (and there are probably more stories but I have forgotten them! - oh.. yes The Room - which is Thunderbirds, and also Room 101) But I suppose the most important aspect to this part of my life has to be the Herald.
We started it in February, and nearly a year later it has a growing readership and list of subscribers. It has been an utter delight to see it develop and to see long lost fans re-disovering our precious and rare fandom. Thank you for all your support.
So, What have I gained this year? A greater understanding of what constitutes good writing, more patience, the ability to ruthlessly cut and edit scenes that don't work, and hopefully the ability to write enjoyable and readable stories that allow the reader to 'see' what is happening. The Shepherd has taken most of my writing energy this year. But on the whole I think it has been worth it. I now just have to bring it to an end (easier said than done!).
I would like to thank all those people who have contacted me this year, and a special 'Thank you' to the person who kicked me into writing Shepherd!
