NOT easy.
It's really necessary as well for the story to work out properly. Otherwise I would simply forget it. It's taken me three days so far to do three paragraphs. And I can't move on to the next part of the story until it is done as I need to contrast this scene with another very tender and yet just as intimate scene involving two other characters.
I could simply stop writing, ( and boy, there are times when it is actually quite tempting to just drop the whole thing) just pack everything away and go back to a life of watching tv and reading. But I can't. Oh one day I will stop the fanfic, (maybe) and move on to one of those original stories I have got lined up in my mind, but not right now. There are too many things to be done, stories to write, pictures to draw.
And besides, there are few enough of us out there, writing anything like decent UFO fanfic. I like to think I am one of them, not one of the writers that seem to be hell bent on destroying anything that is worthwhile in UFO fanfic .
I'm not brilliant, I may not even be good. but I do think that I am true to the characters. That is what good Fanfic is about. Anyone can write stories that don't adhere to canon.... I could rattle one off in a weekend, but it takes skill to stay within the strict limits of the characters as portrayed by the actors and directors.
But anyway; three paragraphs.. It's a start. Imight just get it finished tomorrow!
